The speaker describes how an interview with Tom Holman coincided with an ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) presence in Nashville, causing construction workers across the entire county to stop working and avoid answering phones for approximately 2 weeks due to fear.

Summary

The speaker recounts an experience while working on a studio project in Nashville. During the interview with Tom Holman, the construction crew failed to show up or complete work for about 2 weeks, and workers wouldn't even answer phone calls. When the speaker confronted their general contractor about the delays and lack of communication, the contractor explained that the workers had learned Tom Holman was in town with ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), which caused them to become unavailable. The speaker notes that this wasn't an isolated incident affecting just their construction site, but rather had a county-wide impact. When Tom Holman arrived in Nashville alongside ICE operations, all work essentially stopped completely throughout the entire county for approximately 2 weeks, demonstrating the widespread concern and fear among the local workforce.

Transcript

[0:00] I interviewed Tom Holman and not one worker would show up to finish this damn studio for about 2 weeks. They wouldn't even answer the phones. I was on my general contractor's [music] ass. Like, "What's going on? We're going to be late." He's like, "They heard Tom Holman's in town with ICE and they're not even going to answer the phones." [music] Was it just this construction site that shut down? It was the whole county for 2 weeks because when Tom rolled into Nashville, so did ICE. Everything just stops dead in its tracks.
