Codex built the largest user-created dungeon crawler
The creator has built a large user-generated dungeon crawler game where players can select characters, obtain pets, and combat enemies. The platform includes a "Dungeon Sight" skill that allows players to use AI (Astra) to generate custom dungeon rooms by describing their desired environment, automatically creating detailed spaces based on natural language commands.
Summary
The speaker describes developing what they claim is the largest user-created dungeon crawler platform. The game features standard RPG mechanics including character selection, collectible pets (Codex pets), and combat against various enemies like bears. A key innovation is the "Dungeon Sight" skill, which provides players with room parameters, character information, and control instructions. Rather than manually designing rooms, players can use an AI system called Astra to generate custom environments by simply describing what they want—whether it's the surface of the moon, a volcano, or other imaginative settings. The speaker demonstrates this by noting they created a dungeon room that morning based on "Strange Wonders" called "The Empty Moon," which the AI generated autonomously. The speaker speculates that as AI models become more sophisticated and faster, this type of gaming interface will become increasingly compelling and enable more creative player experiences.
Key Insights
- The creator designed a dungeon crawler with a 'Dungeon Sight' skill that allows players to generate custom rooms using AI by describing desired environments in natural language
- The Dungeon Sight skill works by providing players with specific room parameters, character information, and control instructions that enable AI-generated content creation
- Players can request diverse and imaginative environments through the Astra AI system, such as 'the surface of the moon' or 'a volcano,' without manual room design
- The creator tested the AI room generation that morning and the system autonomously created detailed content including a dungeon room called 'The Empty Moon' based on 'Strange Wonders'
- The creator predicts that as AI models improve in speed and capability, this type of AI-powered gaming interface will become significantly more interesting and engaging for players

[0:00] So, I created the largest user-created dungeon crawler. You can go in, play , choose your character, get a Codex pet, and then run around and destroy bears or other enemies. I also wanted people to be able to create their own rooms. Therefore, I have added instructions on how to use the "Dungeon Sight" skill . In effect, this skill simply says, “Here are the dimensions of the room. That's what a player is like. Here are the controls, etc." And then you can use Astra to give a command, [0:30] like, “I want to be on the surface of the moon. "I want to be in a volcano." Or anything else. So this morning I created a…

Codex assumes connectors from your prompt
Codex can intelligently infer when external API connectors (Notion, Slack, Snowflake) are needed based on user intent and context. The system understands complex requests like pulling Notion documents and cross-referencing them with calendar data, and can either prompt users about plugin connectors or automatically implement them.
AI picks my thumbnails now
A content creator demonstrates using OpenAI's Vision API to automatically analyze video frames and select the most flattering ones for YouTube thumbnails. The frame picker app scores frames on expression, clarity, composition, and impact, then combines selected frames with DALL-E 3 to generate polished thumbnail designs.
Codex built my weekly Spotify playlist from Reddit
A developer created an automated website that solves shared Spotify access issues by building personalized weekly playlists from Reddit's music communities. The system scrapes popular music recommendations from Reddit, ranks them by voting, and automatically generates a fresh playlist every Monday morning.
How the OpenAI team uses ChatGPT Sites daily
Kat, a website product leader at OpenAI, demonstrates how the ChatGPT Sites feature with plugin connectors enables diverse use cases ranging from incident management and team collaboration to creative projects like music discovery and 3D game development. The discussion highlights how Sites serves as both a practical business tool and an infrastructure platform for rapid prototyping and creative expression.
Jev beat an LLM at blitz chess
Jev, an AI system, defeats an LLM at blitz chess by using a two-step analysis process that evaluates the top three moves and their subsequent branches in under a second. While LLMs could eventually solve the same problem, they would require significantly more computational resources and time, making Jev's specialized approach more efficient for time-constrained decision-making tasks.
