We Hit The #1 Chase In BACK TO BACK Boxes! 😱 *ENTIRE NOIR BASKETBALL CASE*
Card Collector 2 opens an entire case of four Panini Noir basketball boxes worth approximately $4,000, pulling multiple chase cards including two VJ Edgecombe autographs back-to-back, a 1-of-1 patch card, and autographs from NBA legends Magic Johnson and James Harden. Despite Panini losing its NBA license, the product remains affordable and collectible with solid hit rates across all four boxes.
Summary
In this video, Card Collector 2 opens a complete case of Panini Noir basketball, consisting of four boxes valued at nearly $4,000 combined. The host explains that while Panini no longer holds an NBA license, Noir remains an interesting and affordable product to collect, costing a fraction of what licensed products would cost. Four boxes of Noir would have cost over $10,000 when the license was active.
The primary chase card targeted throughout the opening is VJ Edgecombe autographs and patch cards, as Panini integrated high-end products like Flawless and Immaculate cards into standard releases to maintain product value despite the lost license. Each box contains six autographs or memorabilia cards.
Box 1 yields strong results, including a WJ Edgecombe autograph (limited to 25), a one-of-a-kind patch card, a Malik Thomas autograph, and multiple other signed cards. Box 2 continues the hot streak with another VJ Edgecombe autograph (limited to 99), a Carter Bryant Sneaker Spotlight autograph, and Jordan Smith autograph. The host notes that pulling two Edgecombe autographs back-to-back in boxes one and two is incredible luck.
Box 3 produces a Mika Peavy RPA (limited to 25), multiple autographs including Kingston Flemmings, and a particularly valuable Jeremiah Fiers National Treasures autograph (5 of 5). Box 4 delivers legacy content including autographs from James Harden and Magic Johnson, along with another Sneaker Spotlight card featuring Ace Newell, and a notable UK patch card of Cedric Ceballos that features embossed detailing.
The host concludes that for the price point, the case delivered excellent value with multiple chase hits, including the two Edgecombe pulls, two Sneaker Spotlight autographs, NBA legend autographs, and several limited parallel cards.
Key Insights
- Panini integrated high-end Flawless and Immaculate cards directly into standard products like Noir instead of releasing them separately to maintain value without a full roster of major NBA stars
- Four boxes of Noir basketball would have cost over $10,000 when Panini held the NBA license, but now cost approximately $4,000 due to the lost license agreement
- Pulling two VJ Edgecombe autographs back-to-back across boxes one and two represents an exceptional hit rate for the primary chase card
- Noir basketball cards maintain visual design appeal despite being unlicensed by avoiding direct logo focus and using artistic layouts that obscure the absence of licensing
- The case produced multiple chase hits including a 1-of-1 patch card, National Treasures limited card (5 of 5), and autographs from NBA legends Magic Johnson and James Harden, exceeding typical value expectations for the price point
